Plant the Seed for the Need

There are times in life when truth shatters something you had once believed.  Remember they day you learned that Santa wasn’t a man from a winter wonderland?  How about the time when you discovered the truth about the redeeming blood of our Messiah?  The things you wholeheartedly believe can be changed in an instant.
Sadly, truth is often masked behind error.  Politicians lie and it doesn’t even bother their constituents. World religions twist ideas to appease their followers.  Light mixes with darkness over and over again.
Think back to the garden of Eden.  Adam was allowed to eat from the tree of life. He could have tasted from God’s goodness. Instead, Adam chose the tree of knowledge of both good and evil.  From that time forward mankind has struggled to differentiate between what is good and what looks good.  Mixture of truth and falsehood was forbidden then and it is now.
Our daily Proverb says, “The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him,” 18:17.
It’s time we allow our theologies and dogmatic doctrines to be reconsidered. What you have always known to be right may actually be a dangerous mixture of good and evil.  Have you ever cross examined your religious practices or even the tenets of your church with the Scripture?
What you know may not be best.  Are you brave enough to take your faith before the heavenly court and allow the righteous judge to make a ruling?  Take a few minutes today and cross examine what you believe. You may discover a mixture of good and evil.
