The Definition of Integrity

It’s simple physics that a body at rest tends to stay at rest while a body in motion tends to stay in motion.  What does this have to do with Proverbs 10?  Well, this collection of wisdom from King Solomon reinforces what science teaches us.  The king wrote that “idle hands make you poor but diligent hands brings riches.”
This idea of blessing isn’t a get rich quick prosperity pyramid scheme. Instead it is a steadfast principle, just like Newton’s first law of motion. The Lord has promised to bless the work of your hands.  When you are active you will be productive.  The opposite is also true.  “The son who sleeps during the harvest is disgraceful” because he isn’t active and therefore can’t gather up goodness.
Proverbs says the Lord won’t “allow the righteous to go hungry, but He denies the wicked what they crave.”  The wicked wants something for nothing and gets nothing in return.  People of faith trust for daily bread.
Activity produces results at work, at home, and in your spiritual life.
Blessings are on the head of the righteous because the labor of the righteous leads to abundance.  This applies to every area of your life.  If you are busy seeking Jesus you will find him.  If your spiritual life is lazy then you will be led astray.
Too often we are frustrated by the results we aren’t getting by the work we’re not doing.  If you want any area of your day to improve then you must put forth the effort to make it better.  Science has this law of activity exactly right, you do reap what you sow.  It’s time to get busy seeking holiness so that we be rewarded more holiness.
