Motivated or Frustrated?

How do you get motivated to work for yourself?

Well, motivation is tricky as most people think you need motivation to start and therefore wait around for some existential force to manifest until they “feel” motivated. If you are waiting to “feel” motivated before you do well then you will probably never do well! Feelings are tricky and can easily mislead you. You can “feel” frustrated and not give your best. You can “feel” the rain and decide not to drive to work. You can “feel” rejected and not pick up the phone. And you can “feel” motivated if you FIRST make the decision to be motivated.  

Motivation is part feeling and part thought, with the primary importance on the area of thought.  Determination is the first step to true motivation. Once you decide what you want and how you are going to get it the action can start. Your decision to be unstoppable will lead you to replicate the actions of top performers. Motivation comes with action! And here’s the best part, simple determination, followed by consistent actions will develop habits. A habit or routine will push you to excellence.

Motivation… It starts with a thought and not a feeling.
