Proverbs 1 – How Do You See the World?
February 1, 2020
Kids love to dare each other into craziness.  And “double dog dares” simply can not be ignored.  I’ve got a special challenge just for you…
There’s a short small practice that can strengthen you spiritually and grow your relationships with others.  By simply reading one chapter from the book of Proverbs each day you will discover practical insights that are highly beneficial.
In Proverbs, you will not uncover the winner of the next Super Bowl, but you will find instructions for life.  The wisdom in these words teach us about money, sex, work, God, and how to treat others.  No subject is off limits for the author Solomon.  He hits home and he hits hard.
So, here’s the challenge… starting today, read the chapter in the Proverbs that corresponds to today’s date. For example, since today is February 1 you should read the first chapter. When it is February 20th, read Proverbs 20.  There’s one short chapter for each day of the month.
Then, after reading daily, choose one verse to really think upon. Marinate on that passage throughout your day. Let it dwell deeply within you. Consider how you can apply that Proverb to your life.  Memorize or share that message with others.
From a daily Proverb you will be instructed on how to live with integrity and intentionally. Each chapter is thought provoking and full of ideas to bring you closer to God and closer to people.  So, how about start now?  Commit to this easy reading plan. I’ll be sharing some thoughts on the portion online so we can encourage each other. Let’s dig in together, just one chapter at a time. That’s the challenge and I double dog dare you to do it.
